The UNESCO UK Industrial Trail brings together 22 UNESCO designations in celebration of the United Kingdom’s internationally significant industrial heritage to form a trail for enthusiasts to explore. You may choose to explore the whole trail that crosses 3 countries (Wales, England and Scotland) or those closest to home, either way we welcome you to our sites and cities to understand our shared history and pass down to future generations. This is all thanks to funding from the United Kingdom National Commission for UNESCO Local to Global project and made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

World Heritage Sites – Ironbridge Gorge, Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape, the English Lake District, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Saltaire, Derwent Valley Mills, Blaenavon Industrial Landscape, the Forth Bridge, the Slate Landscape of NW Wales, Jodrell Bank, New Lanark, Hadrian’s Wall, Durham Castle & Cathedral, Studley Royal & Fountain’s Abbey and Birkenhead Park (Tentative Site).

Global Geoparks – North Pennines, GeoMôn and Black Country.

Creative Cities – Bradford City of Film, Manchester City of Learning, Manchester City of Literature and Nottingham City of Literature.

Gallwch ddewis fynd ar hyd y llwybr cyfan sy’n croesi tair gwlad (Cymru, Lloegr a’r Alban) neu’r rhai agosaf at adref. Y naill ffordd neu’r llall, rydym yn eich croesawu i’n safleoedd a’n dinasoedd i ddeall yr hanes yr ydym yn ei rannu a’i drosglwyddo i genedlaethau’r dyfodol. Mae hyn i gyd diolch i gyllid gan brosiect Comisiwn Cenedlaethol y Deyrnas Unedig ar gyfer prosiect UNESCO “Local to Global” sydd wedi’i wneud yn bosibl gan Gronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol.

Mae Llwybr Treftadaeth Ddiwydiannol y DU yn dwyn ynghyd Safleoedd Treftadaeth y Byd UNESCO, safleoedd ar y Rhestr Betrus, Dinasoedd Llenyddiaeth a Ffilm UNESCO, a Geoparciau Byd-eang i adrodd stori diwydiant ledled Cymru, Lloegr a’r Alban, o bob cwr o’r DU. O felinau, mwyngloddiau a chwareli i gamlesi, rheilffyrdd a dinasoedd diwydiannol, mae’r llwybr yn cysylltu llefydd a thirweddau sydd wedi’u siapio gan arloesedd, llafur a daeareg – gan wahodd ymwelwyr i ystyried sut y trawsnewidiodd diwydiant fywyd bob dydd a gadael etifeddiaeth ddiwylliannol barhaol.

L’itinéraire du patrimoine industriel du Royaume-Uni regroupe 22 sites classés à l’UNESCO, afin de mettre en valeur ce patrimoine d’envergure internationale. Que vous choisissiez d’explorer l’intégralité de ce parcours traversant trois pays (le pays de Galles, l’Angleterre et l’Écosse), ou simplement les sites proches de vous, nous vous accueillerons avec plaisir dans nos villes et sur nos sites. L’objectif ? Vous faire découvrir notre histoire commune et, ensemble, la transmettre aux générations futures.

Ce projet est rendu possible grâce au financement du programme « Local to Global » de la Commission nationale du Royaume-Uni pour l’UNESCO, ainsi qu’au soutien du National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Patrimoine industriel du Royaume-Uni – Parcours UNESCO

L’itinéraire du patrimoine industriel du Royaume-Uni rassemble des sites classés au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, des sites en liste indicative, des villes créatives UNESCO (littérature et cinéma) et des Géoparcs mondiaux UNESCO. Ensemble, ils racontent l’histoire de l’industrie à travers l’Angleterre, l’Écosse et le pays de Galles; du nord au sud du Royaume-Uni. Usines, mines, carrières, canaux, chemins de fer et villes industrielles : ce parcours relie ces lieux et paysages, façonnés par l’innovation, le travail humain et la géologie. Il invite les visiteurs à comprendre comment l’industrie a transformé le quotidien et façonné un héritage culturel et social durable.
