The UK National Commission for UNESCO (UKNC) and The Audience Agency are launching this toolkit at a free online event.
With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the toolkit is an industry first and has been co-developed with the UK’s network of UNESCO-designated sites, which include Biosphere Reserves, Creative Cities, Global Geoparks and World Heritage Sites.
Cultural and natural heritage should be important for everybody. There is global precedence for increasing connection and engagement across and between communities. The UN’s 2030 Agenda hinges on strong connections and partnerships – with the central promise to ‘leave no one behind’ and the 2024 UN Pact for the Future further asserts the need for a whole of society approach, in keeping with Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.”
At this free online event, UKNC and The Audience Agency will introduce the new toolkit, share some case studies for its use, and provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Who is this event and the toolkit for?
While best practice has been drawn from across the network of UNESCO sites in the UK, UKNC and The Audience Agency think this toolkit will also be of interest to stakeholders in natural, cultural and built heritage sites across the UK and internationally, and other initiatives looking at partnership and place-based approaches.
Date: Tuesday 29 October, 1.30pm – 2.30pm, on Zoom.
