Book your tickets for Jurassic January 2023, the Jurassic Coast‘s popular annual event for businesses.
2023’s event will be held on Tuesday 24 January 2023 at the RNLI College in Poole. The day will feature a range of speakers from the world of tourism, business and heritage, and will focus on sustainability, with practical solutions that you can implement at your business.
Places include lunch plus tea and coffee throughout the day. Timings for the day will be approx. 9:30am – 3:30pm. More details to be confirmed.
Speakers confirmed for Jurassic January 2023:
Dr. Nick Snashall, National Trust Stonehenge – Dr Snashall is the National Trust Archaeologist for Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site. Dr Snashall’s talk at Jurassic January will be grounded in the experience and practice of sustainable heritage management in the Stonehenge and Avebury WHS.
James Golding, who will be speaking about sustainability and the Pig Hotels, where he is Chef Director.
Gwyn Jones and Lucy Cullinane, Association of Sustainability Practitioners – Gwyn will speak about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and how they relate to businesses. Lucy will then lead a workshop for attendees around how to implement sustainability practices in your business.
Alistair Handyside, South West Tourism Alliance – a regular fixture at Jurassic January, Alistair will share vital information about the funding and support available for tourism businesses, as well as share insights from his lobbying and advocacy work with government on behalf of tourism businesses.
Ruud Jansen Venneboer, Mazzard Farm Holiday Cottages – Ruud will speak about some of the changes he has implemented at his self-catering cottages business in East Devon in order to enhance sustainability.
James Weld – James will speak about adaptations made by the Lulworth Estate at their popular visitor destinations of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, reflecting the changing nature of tourism since 2020.
