Meet Wish – The World Heritage Bear

Seven places. One Wish.

There’s a very special visitor joining the 40th anniversary celebrations.

Meet Wish – The World Heritage Bear

Created by Merrythought, Wish will travel between the UK’s first seven World Heritage Sites, helping to connect their individual celebrations and introducing a new generation to World Heritage.

Along the way, Wish will discover what makes each place special, meet some of the people who care for them and collect a stamp in his very own World Heritage Passport.

Make a Wish for World Heritage

Wish’s journey isn’t only about celebrating the last 40 years. It’s also about looking ahead to the next 40.

As part of his travels, Wish will be helping primary school children discover the UK’s first seven World Heritage Sites and think about why special places like these matter.

Schools can take part in a dedicated Wish World Heritage afternoon, using free downloadable resources to explore the seven sites, become World Heritage Detectives and consider what they would like the future of World Heritage to look like.

Children will then be asked one important question: What is your wish for World Heritage?

Their wishes could be about protecting special places, caring for nature, sharing history, helping more people experience heritage or making sure these remarkable places can be enjoyed by future generations.
