World Heritage Webinars – Industrial Heritage Season Two # 3: Blaenavon

The third in a series of four webinars, that will showcase Industrial World Heritage Sites from across the UK.
This third webinar will focus on Blaenavon Industrial Landscape in Wales. Your speaker is Dr Nathan Matthews.
Nathan is a Blaenavon Town Councillor and served two terms as Mayor. He has been involved with the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, in various capacities, for over 25 years. He is Chairman of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site Partnership’s Exploring and Enjoying the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape Working Group and a member of the Partnership Board. He has previously held roles at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre and the Blaenavon Community Museum. He is Chairman of Blaenavon Local History Society, Secretary of Blaenavon Civic Society, and Vice President of Torfaen Museum Trust. His doctoral research examined the use of digital technology in UK industrial World Heritage Sites. He holds a first-class degree in History from Cardiff University and has published several books and articles on the history of Blaenavon.
