Post Title: World Heritage Project Coordinator
Location: Highland
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week
Duration: Fixed Term for 3 years
Salary: £38,474 – £41,714 p.a.
Job Purpose – this post will coordinate World Heritage Site (WHS) activity on behalf of Flow Country Partnership (FCP) and The Flow Country World Heritage Site Steering Committee (WHSSC) and lead on certain elements of the work.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- – Co-ordinate and monitor the implementation of the WHS Management plan on behalf of the WHSSC in line with agreed timetables and actions and report progress to the Steering Committee, FCP, partner organisations, statutory bodies and UNESCO as required
- – To convene, manage and provide the secretariat and technical expertise for the WHSSC and support the independent chair of that Group
- – Develop and manage projects and events for the WHS, managing input and expectation of WHS partners and external organisations and individuals
- – To liaise with the UK Government Dept. Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) which is the national ‘focal point’ for all UK World Heritage matters, with other UK WHS through World Heritage UK, Historic Environment Scotland (HES) and with UNESCO World Heritage Centre (Paris) as required
- – Contribute to the financial planning and management of FCP programmes and projects relevant to the WHS
- – Seek external funding
- – Promote the WHS to stakeholders, residents and visitors in collaboration with partners and other stakeholders through and agreed programme of talks, media, website, information and interpretation
- – Facilitate, promote and engage in an education programme relating to the delivery of the aims of the WHS
- – Collate WHS responses to development proposals that could affect the WHS
- – Work with team members and stakeholders to build and maintain excellent working relationships
Essential requirements include:
- – Significant experience of working in project and programme environments, ideally but not exclusively in a natural/built heritage environment
- – Proven track record of delivering successful projects including experience of contract management from initiation through to delivery
- – Evidence of higher education
- – Effective communication and numeracy skills
- – Ability to write and communicating in a variety of formats
- – Computer literate and familiar with a range of computer packages
- – Management of resources including budget and staff
- – Ability to gather, handle and analyse data in both monitoring and evaluative contexts
- – Budget management and ability to work in accordance with Council’s Standing Orders, financial procedures and office practices
- – Excellent partnership working
- – A strong team player with an ability to relate appropriately to a wide range of people
- – Self-motivated with drive and enthusiasm to deliver targets
- – Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines
