Intangible Cultural Heritage in the UK: DCMS round-table discussions

January 22, 2024 Published by Alex McCoskrie

DCMS is hosting a number of online roundtable discussions on Intangible Cultural Heritage in the UK.

The series of public roundtable discussions run alongside the online consultation survey. DCMS are keen to discuss some of the decisions regarding the first stage of implementing the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage: specifically, to define and identify Intangible Cultural Heritage.

DCMS invites anyone with an interest in Intangible Cultural Heritage to join. There are a number of themed discussions planned (see list below). You are welcome to register for whichever is most suited to your interests and/or availability, and welcome to join more than one discussion should you wish.

The first part of the session will be a presentation, then it will open up into a discussion, with a ten minute break halfway through.

Please visit DCMS’ online consultation survey for more information on what this roundtable discussion will cover. DCMS will include a short introduction to the area for background information and further detail, they recommend the UNESCO website for the Convention.
